Why do we continue to react emotionally even when we "know better"? Why does insight alone often fail to create change? This workshop examines the neuroscience behind emotional reactivity and healing, exploring how the amygdala, hypothalamus, vagus nerve, and stress response systems influence behavior, emotions, and relationships. Many of our most effective therapeutic approaches share common underlying neurobiological principles, even when they appear very different on the surface. This workshop explores how the Limbic and Central Nervous Systems detect threat, mobilize survival responses, and (painfully slowly) eventually support healing and integration.
